Duale To Politicians- No Ferrying You Anymore

It is always a JKL show every Wednesday evening on Citizen TV. It is a renowned show for the simple reason of inviting influential and key guests to discuss hot and trending topics that leave viewers glued and intrigued into wanting to know more about the real events on the ground.

Yesterday panellist was a decorated politician turned minister of defence who is also a close ally of the Head of State, Aden Duale.

The moderator, who by the way, is represented by the acronym of the show, Jeff Koinange, is Kenya’s celebrated journalist with vast experience spanning years in the sector.

Back to the root of the topic, where concerned secretary, upon discussion and final deliberations with Jeff, happened to disclose a serious takeaway note touching on politicians.

According to the minister, military choppers will be far from the reach of politicians, this is what he said.

“Jeff, it will no longer be as usual, we are not going to carry politicians on our choppers going forward, and military resources shall remain useful to the rightful handful of those who need them the most.

No more ferrying politicians, even me, if am going home, I will use my car.”

“Come on Minister, how will you drive your car, when all roads in Garrisa have been swept by floods?” Chuckling moderator cracked a joke and a question at the same time, which was also true to some extent as the defence secretary defended that accusation, stating that roads in his home county have improved significantly and that which was washed away is minor and has been repaired.

To the knowledge of Kenyans, we have witnessed a culture where politicians have more than once accessed military resources to advance their agenda.

For instance, military choppers have been the norm for some of them, is this initiative from the minister a positive stride toward restricting and respecting that which belongs to our security personnel, who need it the most to restore peace, stability, and order in the nation?

Let's discuss it below.
